Hi, I'm Cathy
Synopsis
I’m an aspiring brand designer living and creating in the beautiful city of Vancouver, Canada. I’m dedicated to utilizing my strong problem-solving, creative thinking, and strategic planning skills to create authentic and lasting design solutions for small businesses and community organizations that foster genuine human connection.
Outside of design, my love for photography taught me to frame each shot with intention, explore different perspectives, and use what’s already present to tell a meaningful story.
But Who Really Am I?
Chapter 01
I grew up captivated by interior design shows, constantly rearranging my room to explore how space could feel different with each layout. That curiosity soon expanded beyond interiors—I began noticing the details in everyday life.
I found myself wondering why certain shapes feel modern while others seem traditional, or why I’m naturally drawn to the silhouette of some clothes more than others. That keen sense of observation gradually seeped into my daily life and habits. The creative roots have sprung!
Chapter 02
Before design, my background was in nutrition, where I regularly presented research to the public. It was a challenge to communicate complex information to audiences with limited attention spans. This raised questions that continue to shape my work today:
-
How do we capture attention?
-
How do we communicate information clearly and succinctly?
-
How do we make information memorable?
Strategic visual design felt like the answer to these questions, which ultimately drew me toward graphic design—a field that merges my early creative interests with purposeful communication.
